In 2021 a bill for a law to provide for public procurement Procedures in the state and establish a public procurement Bureau which shall be responsible for enforcing compliance with the procedures as well as supervising and regulating Procurement of Goods, Works and Services by MDAs and Local Government Council in the State for other Matters connected therewith.

in 2023 Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Appoint Hon Shehu Namadi Dala as the First Commissioner to head the Ministry as Change from Bureau to Ministry in December 2024 Engr Muhammad Ibrahim Diggol became the Second Commissioner to Head the Ministry
